Jennifer Armentrout left a big cliffhanger at the end of Opal (Lux, 3) so I was expecting Origin to be HUGE. And it didn't disappoint!

Origin is a roller coaster of a boo, filled with plenty of action, romance, deception and grief. It amazes me how beautiful Katy and Daemon's relationship is. They are put through trials over the course of the novel but they manage to succeed because they have each other. I won't lie, some scenes were hard to get through and others made me swoon. This is definitely the book where Daemon's character shines!

I won't go into to much detail about what goes on because you should definitely pick up a copy, but there are huge secrets revealed and an even more shocking deception that will leave you with a broken heart. 

You wil cri, laugh, kick and scream by the time you are done reading and let me just get this out there...it does not end how we expect. Putting that aside, the book was extraordinary  and will satisfy everyone that waited for its release. Now I'm anxiously waiting for the final novel and I honestly believe that it will be Jennifer Armentrout's best one yet!

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we're stronger...and they know it.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Action packed and full of surprises!! First of all, let me start by saying how AWESOME this book was, it exceeded my expectations by a large margin!!! We get the same aspect that were in the other two books: action, suspense, romance but in opal we get that X10.

Here are a few things that blew my mind:

1. Daemon

3. Daemon

Oh my goodness, someone throw water at me please! I can not believe how amazing Daemon is in this book. You can really see the depth of his feelings for Katy and how far he will go to keep her safe!Katy is just the same, she is so loyal to Daemon and his family and will do just about anything for them! There relationship is far from perfect though and with every fight they have it just makes their bond stronger and it makes it feel more real.

So there is a lot that happens in this book, but I won't mention names or details because that would spoil the fun. Enemies return and new alliances are made but betrayal is never too far away and the results are far more devastating than in Onyx.

My last note, the ending.....oh how my heart broke! It was the most heart wrenching feeling I have ever felt while reading and to make matters worse, it ends with a cliffhanger!!!! ARGHH!! How can you just end it like that?!?!

Alright, I've composed myself. So all in all, Jennifer L. Armentrout does it again! She works her magic to give us an exceptional tale of courage, strength and devotion, and how true love will conquer all!

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

he Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

This book was just as great as the first one. It picked up where Obsidian left off and there was never a dull moment from there!

Katy's and Daemons relationship was beautiful to watch. There were some parts where I wanted to scream at her because she was being so damn stubborn! Besides that, we see how Daemon really does care for Katy and how protective he is of her, even when he wants to strangle her (again, she's being stubborn!!). There relationship was tested on so many different levels that my heart ached for them.

I was not a fan of Blake at all! The things he did and the reasons behind them were infuriating! I understand where he's coming from, but there are other ways to go about finding a solution and because of the decisions he made, everyone suffered for them.

This book was intense and emotional, I had a kleenex box with me because of everything that was going on! Betrayal, lies and secrets are a major part of this book and it will have you cheering for Katy and Daemon and leaving you with a heartache as well. On an ending note, I have to say that I enjoyed watching Katy and Daemons relationship grow, how they learned from each other and that together, they were better than when they were apart!

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring.... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

I have to say that I like the deviation from the vampire/werewolf theme. Personally though, I always tended to steer clear of the whole "alien" scenarios because they would just remind me of E.T and, well , thats just not appealing. That is not the case with the Lux Series and I am so glad that I gave this book a chance!!

So let me point out the some things that I found refreshing in Obsidian:

1. Daemon, the male lead, is a big jerk!
2. Katy doesn't put up with Daemon
3. There is no instant love connection

1. We've had books with bad boys with all the tats and piercings and foul mouths but this is a whole new kind of of bad boy. Most bad boys are that way because they have a troubled past or they've been wronged in some way by someone, well Daemon Black is a bad boy in the sense that he is a complete jerk to Katy for no reason. We have to put up with his constant remarks, attitude, and warnings for a good portion of the book before we get an explanation for his behavior. Of course then we realize what is going on so we start to hate Daemon a little less (but really, when you look the way Daemon does, did you every truly hate him?).

2. Katy doesn't take any of Daemons crap! I love a strong female because it shows that not all girls put up with the guys behavior just because he's good looking. Katy has her priorities in the aspect of her mom and friends and is loyal to them, no matter what (*ahem Daemon*). What I loved most though was that even when she finally got the reason behind Daemons attitude she didn't instantly forgive him. She made him know that what he did was wrong and how bad he had hurt her before she forgave him. That to me a is a good female, Props to Katy!!

3. This brings me back to point 1, Daemon is a jerk and no amount of hotness will overlook Daemon's attitude. There wasn't any love at first sight, no accidental kisses, there was however god chemistry. I liked that Daemon and Katy both had to work through obstacles before they got to a place where they realized their feelings for one another. This is so refreshing to me because this is how it is in real life! It made the book more relatable and personally more enjoyable for me!

Overall I really enjoyed this book! I love the new world and characters that Jennifer L. Armentrout brought to life and she did it with an ease that left you wanting more! She really brought out the emotions and personalities of al characters and made you feel as if you were right there with them. The book left you with questions but with out being a cliff-hanger (which is such a relief!) My only question is: Where can I find myself a Daemon!!!!
