Post-Apocalyptic novels make me tread with caution; I never know what to expect. Reading the blurb however, I was intrigued, and let me say that I was not disappointed at all! 

I went through a roller coaster of emotions with the main character: angst, anger, compassion, you name it! Lizzie is a troubled girl, we can expect that since it's in the blurb, but it is so much more than that. She is complex person, but given everything she went through, it wasn't hard to feel for her. At one point I felt like I could relate with her. 

What I loved most about All is Silence, is that it got down to the most basic concept, survival which I feel like now a days most post-apocayptic novels loose this concept over the course of the book. All is Silence made me question myself, it made me put myself in the characters shoes and see things from their perspective. It basically made me reevaluate my concepts of right and wrong.

There's a semblance of hope throughout the novel and you can't really help but hope that things will work out in the end. The first part of the book was awesome and the second part was just as good but I didn't like the cliffhanger. But I mean who does?! At least we know that there is a set up for a second book and I am looking forward to it!

I haven't read much Fae books and those that I have were nothing compared to this one. 

We start off with MacKayla, Mac for short, heading off to Dublin to figure out who killed her sister. In her search, Mac runs into all sorts of weird things, a man that turns into a monster, an old woman who threatens her, I mean how bizarre is that? 
Things don't get any better when she meets Jericho Barrons. This is where the books takes off. Mr. Barrons isn't just your average book store seller, he knows all about the secret world of the Fae and helps bring Mac into this world and teaches her everything about it. The story is full of action, mystery, and suspense and doesn't let up even on the last page.

Mac was an awesome heroine. She is willing to do anything to discover what happened to her sister, even entering the dangerous world of the Fae. I loved that she didn't let Barrons push her around and that she had a backbone. My only complaint is that when it came to her wardrobe, she was a child. I don't know if the author believes that the way Mac dresses is "grown up" but I, personally, did not like the way she dressed; Too much pink. 

Jericho Barrons was a mystery the entire book. We don't know what he is, if he is one of the good guys, or what his intentions really are. I liked that we didn't really get to trust him until halfway through the book, it gave us time to decide, by his actions, if he was really trying to help Mac. 
Is Jericho Barrons sexy? Controlling? Alpha Male? ABSOLUTELY! I loved his dominating attitude, it made me swoon every time he spoke! Ugh, love him!

Karen Moning built an excellent world of mythical Fae full of mystery and darkness. The world-builidng was awesome, the characters are perfect, and I seriously would recommend this book to anyone that's looking for a little paranormal mystery.

Torn from You

Love is like an avalanche. It hits hard, fast and without mercy.

At least it did for me when Sculpt, the lead singer of the rock band Tear Asunder knocked me off my feet. Literally, because he’s also a fighter, illegally of course, and he taught me how to fight. He also taught me how to love and I fell hard for him. I mean the guy could do sweet, when he wasn't doing bossy, and I like sweet.

Then it all shattered.

Kidnapped.
Starved.
Beaten.
I was alone and fighting to survive.
When I heard Sculpt's voice, I thought he was there to save me.

I was wrong.

Dear Lord. I was so not expecting this. The novella was sweet and romantic and then this story did a 180 and went in a whole new direction. It's dark, scary, and hard to read, well most of it is. 

The first half was difficult to read but at the same time I couldn't but down the book. I hated Sculpt, I wanted to crush his head and kick him while he was down...that's how angry I was. But even worse? I started to hate Emily as well. 
Honey, you're being tortured, humiliated, and beaten, why in the world are you feeling "lust-full" to the man that brought you to this situation? I wanted to slap her so she could see what was going on around her. 
There's a difference in complying so you'll survive and being dumb and wanting someone who has harmed you. Ugh! 

"You will fear me, Emily. And if you don't…I will make you."

But like all great authors, Rose turned us around again and soon I was starting to forgive Sculpt. I know it's like whiplash!

In the second half, you find out why things happened the way they did but even with the explanations (I won't give those away) I wasn't totally convinced they were justifiable. But that's just me.

Emily finally grows a backbone, Hurray!, and learns to trust those around her. It was great to see her mature and not be as whiny as she was in the novella. We have the old Sculpt back and he's just as swoon worthy and sexy as ever.

"We can, 'cause it never fuckin' left."

There's plenty of action, love, crying and redemption in Torn from You and even though the first half I loathed, the book was exceptional. I recommend this for everyone who wants to try something a little different, and out of their comfort zone.

What I hadn’t anticipated was landing on my back with Sculpt on top of me and my entire body burning up for him.

I tried to ignore it.

I failed of course. And having a hot, tattooed badass on top of me week after week, acting completely immune to what he was doing to my body—it was frustrating as hell, so I broke his rule—I complained.

Then he kissed me.

SWOON...so much sexiness! This is a short novella that comes before the actual story, Torn from You.

The romance was pretty quick, but considering it's a novella I expected that. My only problem with this story was that I felt like the author combined two really popular concepts at the moment and threw them into the story: Rock star and Fighter bad boy. 

Emily, I liked her, I didn't love her, I just liked her. She was a timid, self doubting girl through out the whole story. I get it, but come on, have a little faith in yourself. It get's tiresome after awhile. 
I gotta say though, I loved Sculpt. He was a good balance of mystery, bad boy, and all around sweet. He was delicious! Every time he would speak, I listened.

"I'm a fighter, Mouse. And I know what I want in life, and I'm not scared to take it. I want you. I'm not walking away from you." 

"Emily. You're a fuckn' trophy. My trophy." 

Major swoon...I NEED MY OWN SCULPT!

Overall it was a short introduction to the main story that I recommend you read before because you'll understand Sculpt and Emily's relationship a little better.

So I want to start off with saying that before I pick up a book, I usually look at reviews to see what everyone else is thinks about it. When I looked Teardrop up, there was so many negative reviews about it that I was scared...mostly because I had already purchased the book.

I have to say, all the reviews are so critical that it is absurd to me. You can't compare a completely different series with a previous series from the author. 

Now, there are some scenes of hard passion for example: "he grabs me and pulls me towards him with such force and kisses me" (this doesn't happen, I'm just using this as an example) some people are so over critical and complain that "Girls shouldn't be treated that way, I wouldn't like that" It is a story folks! It's not real...and some people like to have passion in their love life..jeez! 

Now for the actual review, Teardrop was a pretty cool concept. Atlantis? We haven't really had much books on this topic, so I thank Lauren Kate for that because we are slowly departing from the whole vampire/werewolf/angel topics. 

The story does take a little while to pick up but that's understandable considering she has to give us all the details and background information. Eureka, yes I will agree with everyone that that name is not a very nice one, was a strong female character, but she was very naive. I'm hoping to watch her grow through out the series. Ander, was a gentleman. I loved the way he dressed and how protective he was of Eureka. Im at the first stages of falling in love with him! Brooks...I'm still confused about what you are. But I didn't like his dramatic change that happened over night. He was sweet and caring and then BAM a total ass! Not quite sure what to make of him yet. 

I'm looking forward to see where Lauren Kate takes this new series, hopefully it's just as good as Fallen but with a better ending!!!!

I ABSO-LUTELY love this series!! I am in love with Raffe, I admire Penryn, and I love the concept! 

This book starts where Angelfall left off. Right from the start, there is action, death and angels. There was a moment where I was saying "Can't this girl catch a break?!" 

I have to admire Penryn's strength. She may be a human but she will protect her family from anything...and I mean anything. We learn more about what the angels are up to and let me just say that it's not anything good. 

Now I said that right from the start we have Angels...but we don't have Raffe. We catch small glimpses of him here and there but he doesn't make an appearance until the last 30 pages of the book. 

At first I was mad because Hey! we all want Raffe right? But as I kept reading I loved that we didn't get to see much of Raffe. Crazy huh? But it was a great tactic for Susan Ee because it built this tension for Penryn and Raffe when they finally saw each other. 

I almost cried when Raffe saw Penryn. It was so beautiful and heart-wrenching and I loved it. I'm so fan-girling at the moment. I love him to death but I want to kick him because he still holds back his feelings for Penryn when it's so obvious he cares deeply for her! Ugh!!

I'm hoping that Susan Ee will release the third installment very soon because I have to know what will happen with the world, with the angels, and of course Penryn and Raffe!!! If you liked the first one, you will definitely love the sequel!!!

I've yet to read a novel that dealt with Religion, more specifically with Satan, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this novel. 

The background story is rather creepy but intriguing at the same time, like in movies where you don't want to watch but you just can't look away! The story is a perfect balance of intense, hilarious, and mystery. 

What really worked for this novel was the mixture of personalities from the characters: Austan was aloof and mysterious but conflicted about who he was and what that meant, Imani was a strong hearted girl who just wanted to get ahead in life, and Gabe was the kid that is always striving to please everyone. Their interactions were great to watch and it reminded me of my time in high school.

I liked how we get to see the characters struggle with developing who they will become because that is something we all go through...of course, Austan's case is a little different...
The choices and consequences of our actions are what makes us who we are and that is no different for Austan, Imani and Gabe. 

Told from different perspectives, Vade Retro Satana is the story of how parents influence ones life and how that affects those around you. Austan will need to find the strength to do the right thing even if it's not what he want or there will be consequences...bad ones.

I haven't read a book before that dealt with Pixies so I was eager to see how someone would bring a story of Pixies to life. 

Cailin is sent to the human world for a year to help a friend of her fathers in exchange for avoiding the Darkness. This is where we meet Teague. Teague has suffered an accident and is now blind and angry. This book is the story of how Cailin a tiny pixie helps Teague, a human, feel normal again. 

I liked Cailin. She may be an inch tall or so but she is one feisty lady! She's got attitude and sass yet shows fear when thrown into the unknown. In a way, Teague and Cailin had much more in common than they realized, Teague felt out of place because of his condition and Cailin was in a foreign place and even when she was at home, she was the oddball. It wasn't hard to see that Cailin and Teague were good for each other and I was thoroughly entertained by their interactions.

I felt a sense of happiness watching Teague accept his condition while also accepting Cailin. I was so into the book that I kept wondering, "How is a their relationship going to work when they are different sizes?!" I guess I'm gonna have to wait until the next book to find out though..sigh!

I didn't really care for the conversation of Cailins sisters in her homeland, it was confusing to be honest. However, the book was great and I loved the concept of being able to make a difference no matter your size. This is an interesting series and one that I will continue to read!

This book was so different from everything I've read lately. The world was new for me and I really liked it. I'm not gonna go into details about the world building because I'm not a professional but from my point a view, the world was original and very interesting. 

Lela was such a strong character. She was really tough... borderline manly in her fighting skills. But she was also girly when she had to deal with her feelings for Malachi. At times I did think she was really stubborn and it frustrated me but what girl isn't stubborn... Lela does so much for everyone especially her friend Nadia that I can't help but love her, she is the perfect mix of strength, loyalty, independence and vulnerability. 

Malachi was just perfection for me! He was a major bad ass, I mean common...he's the leader of the Guards and the most feared person in the land! I liked that he had a vulnerability and wasn't a macho about it. He didn't know how to handle his feelings for Lela and that made him more endearing to me.

This was a new world being introduced so it needed a lot of explaining to get readers to understand and what I loved about this book was that there was no useless information, no useless scenarios where people just talk with out there being a point. This was fantastic for me because it kept me interested made me want to keep reading. 

This was an interesting story and I got to say that I am really looking forward to the next book because I can't wait to see where Malachi and Lela are headed next!!

Blood-Kissed Sky picks up right away and the pace never slows. We get the full history of how Day Walkers came to be and the true story of the 14 Old Families...or so we think...
This story takes place in a new city, Los Angeles, so we get to see how the people in that city have adapted and the shocking revelations that Los Angeles hides. 

All the characters were great but I had one minor problem: Tegan. Her character bothered me in the first book but towards the end I figured she was okay. In this book however, I can't say that I'm okay with her, I have to say that I do not like her. All of Dawn's problems would be less hectic if Tegan wasn't in the picture. In the first book, Tegan makes Dawn go to a party (clearly, Dawn doesn't want to go) and they almost die at the hands of Vampires. What happens in this book? THE SAME THING! Seriously Dawn is dealing with a lot of problems and all Tegan wants to do is party. And not to mention the whole boy situation...(but that's a spoiler that I will not give!!)

We don't get to see much of Victor in this novel but when he does make an appearance...I almost faint! He's so sexy and I wish he was real and could be my boyfriend! I'm totally fangirl-ing over him! :D

Blood-Kissed Sky was a great sequel and I can't wait to read the last installment of this trilogy! J.A. London, you did another amazing job with this one!

I love the cover of this novel, it's what caught my attention in the first place. It's beautiful and captivating and really makes you think "MAGIC"!

Brianna and Mandy are twins with magic (their mom's a witch, duh!) but Mandy inherited a great deal of power while Brianna just got a spark. The twins are the complete opposite of each other; Mandy has it all: looks, popularity, athleticism, and boys, while Brianna is just your ordinary typical girl. Jealousy is bound to happen, and it does.

The girls may be polar opposites of each other, but in reality they're not that different. Brianna may be jealous of Mandy, but she is quite content with her life and yet she can't help but want a little of what Mandy has and Mandy, knowing she uses her magic to appear beautiful and obtain everything she has, starts to question if everything in her life is actually real or a product of her magic.

The relationship between the two sisters was strained and most of the time I was hoping to see them reconnect and forgive each other but at the same time I wanted to smack both girls on the head as well. But as the story progressed, I enjoyed how both sister realize that magic doesn't make life better (Yay!). From here on they try to learn to work together,with a little help of some friends, and it's a blast! I loved watching both girls find the right guy and fall in love, it was sweet and romantic! I felt like both girls deserved happiness and I was glad they found it.

This book conveys the message that just because something is perfect, doesn't mean it isn't broken. It is a novel of finding your strength, learning to love yourself and finding love and it's a book that I think everybody, especially those in highs cool and college, should read!

Can I just say how beautiful and captivating the cover is? I must admit that the covers of books sometimes determine whether I get the book or not, I try really hard not to do that though but it just happens! Well the cover of this book definitely drew my attention. Again, I'm not very big on the whole "earth is destroyed and there's different worlds" types of books so I never really wanted to read this. There was however so much hype about this book that I gave in and read it.

However I was a little disappointed, there was so much hype that I expected this grand story and it just fell a little flat to me. There were some things that I just couldn't get my mind wrapped around and some things that I thought needed a little more explanation. I ended the book with questions (which is not a happy thing for me) like "What happened to Cinder?" "What exactly is Aether" but it is a series so I'm assuming explanations will be given later.

On a good note, I did like Aria. She behaved like any normal person would if they were in her situation. She was scared and confused being left in an unknown place and it took her time to gradually trust in Perry and have courage in herself. This is a big thing for me because it makes the character more believable and relatable. 

Perry was just as great. Being a "savage" he pretty much acted like one through out the story until he came to accept Aria and trust in her. I loved all his mad skills and the concept of his abilities. What I really liked about Perry was that he didn't automatically fall in love with Aria, it took time and it progressed through out the book. 

The side characters play big roles in the story and they brought humor and suspense to Aria and Perry's quest. I gotta say though, I hope we see more of Roar in the next book, he cracks me up!

For being a novel with a theme that I stay away from, it was good. I wouldn't say it was up there with the hype it was given, but that's just me. I think everyone should give this book a chance and it may turn out to be your cup of tea and you'll really love it. I'll definitely be picking up the second novel "Through The Ever Night"!

I can't say that I was completely happy with some of Blaire's decisions in this book. The whole reason she is hurting over Rush was because hid secrets from her, and for most of the beginning of the book, she kept a secret hidden from him! It was kind of hard not to think she was being a tad hypocritical.  Even then, I liked how she matured a little and knew what her priorities were. So YAY for Blaire!

Now Rush, wow did I yell at him so many times! I didn't like the fact that he kept making promises to Blaire and he always failed her. Rush needs to understand that Nan is always going to be mean and hateful and if he want's any semblance of a future, he needs to start doing things that make him happy.

So one major thing that bothered me was that the whole anger and hurt between Blaire and Rush in the first book was because of her father. Now in this book, it turns out it isn't even true! Really?! There was so much drama over this and now we find out it was a lie? This bothered me through out the rest of the book that I was skeptical about what the next twist was going to be.

In the end however, I did like this book, there were some heartfelt moments and Rush does redeem himself. Never Too Far tests the limits of how far Rush will go to win Blaire back and keep her forever.

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

Where to start? Okay, I whole heartedly loved this book, it was funny, entertaining, romantic, frustrating and heart breaking. It was basically an emotional roller coaster ride.

Blaire Wynn, innocent, sweet and broken, I admired her from the beginning. For all her suffering, she is strong and determined to make it on her own with out the help of her father or anyone. She puts everyone else before herself and even when her world falls apart again, she manages to stay strong and be loyal to those she loves. Blaire is the type of person who takes charge of her life and believes that everything will work out even when the she loves hurts her.

Rush Finlay is a sexy gray-eyed man whore who just happens to be a jerk, frustrating, and also sweet and caring. I felt his main problem was his sister Nannette and his tendency of putting her before Blaire or his feelings for her. I felt like Nannette was the catalyst for all the heartache because Rush let her run his life. Even then, when Rush let himself care for Blaire it surprised me. He was attentive and protective of her and I could see how he fell for her whenever they were around each other.

The most frustrating thing for me though, was that Rush alway put Nannette first by keeping her secrets. This big secret that revolves around the whole story was just frustrating and honestly, it should have never interfered with Rush and Blaire in the way it did.

*Side note* Someone please slap Nannette for me! I hate her..Ahhh!!!! Okay...I'm done lol

I laughed, screamed, cried, my heart broke for Blaire and for everything she went through. I totally recommend this book, I promise you'll fall in love with Rush and Blaire and will end up rooting for their happy ever after!

Okay...I was totally not expecting this. I was expecting this book to be somewhat like Jennifer L. Armentrout's Lux Series, but I was gladly mistaken! Gravity has a dystopian feel to it but it's not entirely dystopian...does that make sense? Gravity is set in the year 2140 and humans are no longer at the top of the food chain...

Aliens have been a new topic in YA novels but Melissa West changes what we know about them and incorporates them into Earth. In Gravity, to sum up what is going on with out spoilers, humans have destroyed earth and it's no longer habitable. The Ancients, which is what they call the Aliens, have a similar problem and decide to form a treaty with the humans: They will restore Earth and in exchange the humans will need to help The Ancients survive on Earth. Here's the kicker though, the humans have to provide the Ancients with their antibodies through a process called the Taking...the rule: Don't Ever Peak.

The Characters: Ari was the perfect heroine, being the daughter of the Commander, she is taught from young how to fight, and how to be a leader, so naturally this makes her a strong women. What was wonderful about her was that she always had the world's best interest at heart, even if that meant going against everything she was taught. Ari has a good head on her shoulder and is realistic about most things but of course she always had help from her two best friends Law and Gretchen. Jackson Locke, where will I start? He is perfect, divine, handsome, athletic, caring, and so much more but I'm at a loss of words...haha. Jackson is an Ancient and his mission is to discover the humans plans since they are no longer compiling to the treaty. Jackson seeks Ari's help and their world is turned upside down. Jackson shows Ari Earth from his view and as they work together emotions grow and everything they've both known is questioned.

You seriously need to go buy this book, you won't regret it! Gravity is an action packed novel with romance that will have you cheering at the end..but for whose side? The Humans...or the Ancients?
